Rhinos under Threat, produced by UNTV in collaboration with the CITES Secretariat, is the first video featured in the UNSTORIES. The UNSTORIES is a new outreach programme of the United Nations featuring video series tailored for the web that showcases the work of the United Nations, and its Agencies, Funds and Programmes.
Rhinos under Threat was produced last year as an effort to raise public awareness of the crisis faced by rhinoceros through poaching and illegal trafficking in rhino horn. The full version (28 minutes) was first shown on 18 June 2012 in Rio de Janeiro on the occasion of the Rio+20 Conference.
UNTV has now made the short version of this video available in the six official languages of the United Nations.
The full version of the video is available on the official CITES Youtube page.
