Notification to the Parties

CONCERNING:

CITES Handbook

1. The Secretariat is pleased to send herewith to Parties two copies of the new edition of the CITES Handbook. This publication contains the text of the Convention; Appendices I, II and III; the standard permit/certificate; the Resolutions and Decisions in effect after the 12th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (Santiago, 2002); and a CD-ROM with a snapshot of the CITES website dated July 2003.

2. This new edition has been published in a ring-binder format. In future, Parties will receive updates (new Appendices, Resolutions and Decisions) as loose sheets to replace those in the binder that become obsolete, as is already done for the CITES Directory. New versions of the CD-ROM will also be sent at regular intervals.

3. Up to two extra copies per Party are available on request from the Secretariat and this publication will also be sold through the CITES website.
