Notification to the Parties

CONCERNING:

Appendix III

1. In accordance with the provisions of paragraph 1 of Article XVI of the Convention, the Government of New Zealand has requested the Secretariat to include the following species in Appendix III:

REPTILIA

SAURIA

Gekkonidae Hoplodactylus spp.

Naultinus spp.

The abbreviation ‘spp.’ is used to denote all species within the genus.

2. In accordance with the provisions of Article XVI, paragraph 2, of the Convention, inclusion of these species in Appendix III shall take effect on 28 May 2003, i.e. 90 days after the date on which the inclusion was communicated to the Parties through the diplomatic channel.

3. A revised edition of the CITES Appendices valid from 28 May 2003 will be distributed before that date and a copy will be placed on the website of the Secretariat.
