1. During the evening of 19 January 2000, 164 sub-adult tortoises (46 Geochelone radiata and 118 Geochelone gigantea) were stolen from the LaVanille Crocodile Park, Mauritius. They had all been bred at the park in 1998 and 1999.

2. Parties are requested to be aware of this theft when reviewing applications for export, re-export or import documents. Any information regarding the whereabouts of the stolen animals should be passed to the Secretariat.
