Release of the 8th edition of The Evolution of CITES

The CITES Secretariat is pleased to announce the release of the 8th edition of The Evolution of CITES (5.5 MB). As with all previous editions, this book presents the provisions of the Convention and relevant Resolutions and Decisions in an accessible way as well as providing explanations and comments to facilitate an understanding of the Convention and of how it should be implemented.

However, for the first time, this fully electronic edition is based on ‘e-book’ technology which provides unequalled navigability and hypertextuality through a very user-friendly interface. All that readers need to do is to download the file onto their computers and then take a few minutes to get familiar with the functions provided by the software. The e-book also allows readers to print the sections of their choice.

Feedback on the contents of this new edition and on the e-book medium would be greatly appreciated, particularly since the electronic format allows for improvements to be made regularly without having to wait for the next edition to be printed. Comments should be sent to Willem Wijnstekers at willem.wijnstekers@unep.ch.

The 8th edition of The Evolution of CITES is currently available in English only. Please note that you may have to lower the security settings of your browser in order to be able download this ebook.
