Eleventh UN Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice

The 11th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice will takes place in Bangkok, Thailand, from 18 to 25 April 2005.

CITES-related issues will be discussed under substantive item 1G: Effective measures to combat transnational organized crime - illicit trafficking of protected species of wild flora and fauna. CITES Management Authorities are invited to liaise with their national delegations that will attend the Congress and to encourage them to participate in discussions on this agenda item, in order to help raise awareness of illicit trade in wildlife and to encourage increased enforcement of the Convention.
